Grace Dumdaw (they/them) is a Kachin actor, singer, filmmaker, and photographer born in Myanmar and raised in Louisiana.
Grace's early life was divided between assisting in their family's restaurant, hopping between music lessons, and performing at church every week. In high school, Grace began to explore their passion for acting. After winning the first place scholarship at the 2017 Louisiana Thespian Festival, Grace decided to further pursue a career as an actor.
Grace attended Swarthmore College where they received the Philip Evans Scholarship and graduated with a BFA in Stage, Screen, & New Media and Peace & Conflict Studies.
In 2020, Grace was recognized as an Agency Fellow by the Emmy's Television Academy Foundation for their outstanding potential in the entertainment industry.
Grace's additional acting education includes Prague Film School, Stella Adler Studio of Acting, and Upright Citizens Brigade NYC.
After college, Grace moved to New York City and has since made notable appearances in TV, film, and new media such as shows like Succession, And Just Like That, The Blacklist, The Watcher, and more. They also starred as the love interest in the singer Zayn Malik’s music video for "Love Like This".
As a filmmaker, Grace is credited as a director, videographer, editor, and art director.
Additionally, Grace is the lead singer-songwriter for the genre-bending band Chanpan who, since their conception busking in NYC's Chinatown in October 2022, have been named “The Riot Grrrls of 2025” by Numero Tokyo Magazine, hailed by Vogue as "a very cool New York Band", and donned the cover of Local Wolves’ “Visionary” issue.
Dumdaw also releases music under the moniker "gracegrace". Their collaboration “French Bossa Nova” with artists Ladji Mouflet, aupinard, and Chezile became a viral hit with over 21+ million streams on Spotify.
Most importantly, Grace is a passionate advocate for the Kachin people of northern Myanmar, their ethnic group. Through their art and advocacy, Grace strives to raise awareness of the civil unrest and injustices faced by ethnic minorities worldwide.
